EXPERIENCE/PROJECTS

Outside of Work

When I'm not in the office, I love to do hot yoga (everyday), read, dance, cook, blog, Yelp, workout, write, read, listen to all music (except country), practice a healthy and compassionate vegan lifestyle, use social networking for good, learn, and volunteer. I'm also a notorious animal lover. Here's a breakdown of my favorites:

  • Hot Yoga - There is nothing like it. I simply can't live without it. I am currently studying to get my 200YTT certification. Namaste!

  • Marketing - Online, print, television, and radio marketing all fascinate and drive me as a consumer and a professional in the field. The dynamic of the depth and breadth of the consumer insight we now have access to and the marketing plans that are driven by this, make this a very exciting time to be a consumer as well as a marketer. I especially love leveraging social media to increase brand awareness. I'm especially passionate about working with small and medium-sized businesses to help them shine.

  • Healthy, Clean Vegan Living - I'm devoted to the study and practice of eating whole, real food. I cook everyday and practice a plant-basedVegan lifestyle. I juice daily and love to learn more about the healing properties of practicing a Vegan diet. Kale is my best friend!

  • Travel - I recently returned from an ayurveda visionary yoga retreat in Costa Rica. My other favorite cities are Las Vegas, Austin, Asheville, Philly, and New Yawk.

  • Fashion - I love fashion! I'm always intrigued by the design, construction, fit, and styling that goes into what we wear. I'm also a firm believer that your image says a lot about who you are. So to satisfy my craving for fashion, beyond just shopping sprees, I decided to found my own company that empowers people to look their best while still maintaining their own unique style. In 2011, Maverick Image Consulting was born.

  • Fundraising/Volunteerism - I devoted a significant portion of my college years to serving in AmeriCorps Learn & Serve. I completed 1800 hours of community work after 2 years of service. Most of my experience revolved around work with children in an educational setting. I also worked in nonprofits after graduating.  My primary role in all positions was to recruit, manage, and retain volunteers while training and acclimating them to my site and the service involved. I also had the pleasure of working with the children on a daily basis. I can even brag that Hilary Clinton came to a playground build for the preschool I worked at! These days, I volunteer at my local animal shelter and various farm animal sanctuaries.

  • Salsa! - I can't write that without an exclamation point. It's the single best thing to get your body and your heart racing. Surrendering to the music and your partner is so liberating. Some of my favorite salseros include: Marc Anthony, Frankie Ruiz, and Grupo Niche.

  • Blogging/Writing - I manage a few blogs that cover topics ranging from vegan lifestyle pieces to marketing and fashion trends.
